Chul Yoo, Senior Pastor
Chul was installed as the lead pastor at Christ Community Church in June 2015. Chul has worked at a Christian substance abuse center in South Carolina and has pastored in Illinois and Georgia. He is married to Lauri, his college sweetheart, and they have three children: Sophie, Theo, and Chloe. He studied at the Moody Bible Institute, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and Duke University.
Chul Park, Elder Chair
Chul grew up in Philadelphia and moved to the DC area in 1992 to attend graduate school at Georgetown University (PhD in Economics). Shortly after settling into the area, he began attending and then committed himself to Christ Community, where he was baptized and currently serves. Despite having lived in the DC area longer than in Philadelphia, he remains dedicated to Philly sports teams. He is an assistant director at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Chul and his wife, Joanne, have a daughter named Leah.
During his childhood, Richard lived with his family in the Middle East. After completing high school in Georgia, he earned a degree in Computer Engineering from Georgia Tech. He then studied and served for three years at the Word of Life Bible Institute in Argentina. Richard and his wife Laura moved from Georgia to Maryland in 2016 and live there with their three children: Abe, Mary Beth, and John David.
Beth, a native Kentuckian, attended the University of Kentucky and graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a B.S. in Management Studies. Beth retired from her position as Senior Accounting Manager at the Commonweal Foundation (now the Bainum Family Foundation) several years ago, and this is a retirement job for her. She has been married to Pastor Gayle Clifton for over 50 years, and they have two adult children.
